Downtown Lancashire in Business, will host its fifth annual BOOST business conference on Tuesday, March 21 at Brockholes conference centre; and Downtown boss Frank McKenna is promising a positive and inspiring event.

More than 100 private sector leaders are expected to be in attendance at the half-day conference and highlights will include hearing from a young entrepreneur who has taken a business idea from his back bedroom to a multi- million-pound concern; a detailed presentation on the Northern Powerhouse agenda; a focus on the county’s growing digital sector; and tips on how you can grow your business.

Frank said: “I am delighted that the leader of the county council Jennifer Mein and the chief executive of Marketing Lancashire Ruth Connor are joining us. The county has significantly raised its profile during the past twelve months on the national and international stage. This has meant genuine progress in terms of Lancashire place within the Northern Powerhouse initiative, and there are real benefits for business directly linked to the powerhouse project.

“Luke Massie of Vibe tickets has a fascinating business journey to share with us. Melanie Fourie will be giving her expert insights into raising finance for aspirational businesses. Antony Chesworth from Blackburn based EKM Strategic Partnership will share his experiences as the founder and CEO of one of Lancashire’s most innovative businesses. “There is, quite literally, something for everyone who has plans to build a high growth business. From entrepreneurs who have done it to experts who can signpost you to advice and support, this conference has it all.” There will also be an opportunity for event delegates to connect with other business leaders in the special ‘market place’ exhibition space.
