Depatment for International Trade support

The Department for International Trade has a new free export support programme available for Lancashire businesses looking to begin exporting (or those who haven't exported within the last twelve months).

The exciting new programme for potential exporters has been designed to address potential concerns, highlight the opportunities and guide businesses through the initial steps into export markets. This consists of export sales workshops and a series of masterclasses addressing agents & distributors, international communication, market research, intellectual property and getting paid. Highlights of the programme include:

  • Two half-day workshops and access to focused masterclasses
  • A dedicated international trade advisor to help you develop and work through an action plan
  • No cost apart from your commitment and time

The workshops include:

  • Introduction to Exporting - Focuses on the key issues covering legal, financial and logistical obstacles and how to mitigate these risks as well as how to trade safely overseas
  • Export Sales Workshop - A practical guide to finding and engaging with customers through to the first sale and beyond
  • E-Export Sales Workshop - An introductory workshop for companies selling products online through multiple channels, both business-to-business and business-to-consumer

To access free export support, Lancashire businesses should complete the application form on the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce website. Following the application a Department for International Trade advisor will contact you to start your exporting conversation.
