The pandemic has hit young women hard in terms of job opportunities. Branching Out provides funded, employment skills courses for young women.
This 18- hour course is for any young woman who is not economically active, or who considers themselves socially disadvantaged and would like to explore their options for employment, education or self-employment.
Working in a small, supportive group, the course will help you:
- Identify your skills
- Explore your options
- Develop communication skills to help you with employment, self-employment and further education
- Build your confidence
- Build your network
- Prepare your CV
- Develop job application and interview skills
At the end of the course, you will be given a mentor to help you stay on track with your plans for the following 12 months.
When and Where?
Course 1: 7 weeks, starting on Thursday 6th May 2021, 10 am to 12.30 pm, in Lancaster.
There will be a one week gap beginning 14th June for placement, and the final session will be on Thursday 24th June.
Course 2 will start in September.
