With the impending opening of the new £20m University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) North West at Samlesbury, SME manufacturers and business support agencies are invited to this event to hear about new and exciting opportunities to innovate through collaboration.

During the event we will explain the funded support and funding opportunities that are available in Lancashire.

Speaker Topics/Overview:

  • AMRC NW will give SMEs an update on the new facility, aims and objectives, opening schedule, capabilities and how they can access support Lancashire’s SME manufacturers.
  • Darren Meadows , Director at Motordrive Seats LTD will be giving an insight into their experiences working with AMRC NW and the results achieved; the talk will involve AMRC NW Lead Project Engineer Chris Williams who will give a technical overview.
  • Boost Lancashire will give an overview on how they are supporting innovation in Lancashire and will introduce Northern Automotive Alliance and North West Aerospace Alliance who are able to help SMEs access support and funding.
  • Innovate UK Edge will give an overview of the support they give to SME manufacturers and how they can access £15,000 of funding/support to help SMEs commercialise their innovation.
