Celebrate International Women’s day by supporting our 8th Oysters and Pearls event.
You’ve helped us to mentor over 300 girls so far !
Our Oysters and Pearls events bring together generous women from across Lancashire with young girls who need a little extra confidence during their first year at college.
It’s a wonderful way to celebrate this year’s IWD theme of ‘enabling through equality’.
Please give us just five hours of your time and in return, we’ll give you a day of inspiration with great speakers, guided mentoring activities and a lovely hot lunch with networking.
Last year, Vice Principal of Nelson and Colne College, Alison Rushton said: “I’m delighted that 60 young women have benefited from a truly inspiring and motivating session and I’m grateful for the time taken by business women from across Lancashire to support this event and make a difference to the lives of our students.”
Please do something different for International Women’s Day, you may just change a life.
The first International Women’s Day occurred in 1911, supported by over one million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific, because it’s up to all of us to help accelerate gender equality.
Every year, Role invites Lancashire women to do something a little different for International Women’s Day. It’s super to go to a networking lunch and hear a speaker, but why not do that AND mentor a young woman?
