This employer-focused event has been organised in response to the increasing skills shortage and the ageing workforce in Lancashire, and the need for employers to value the experience that older workers can bring to a business.
The conference will highlight the newly published DWP Strategy: Fuller Working Lives: A Partnership Approach, give an insight into some of the underpinning research and enable employers to access and share best practice in retaining, retraining and recruiting older workers.
The event will start with lunch and an opportunity for networking, and will be opened by the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, with the Minister for Employment, Damian Hinds MP providing the keynote speech. This will be followed by key messages from a member of the Government’s Business Champion for Older Workers’ team.
The conference will present ways in which businesses can be supported in recruiting, retraining and retaining older workers, and draw upon success stories from businesses who have already taken an active approach to age management.
We hope you will be able to join us.
