Creating a resource efficient business

In an increasingly noisy and competitive marketplace, businesses have to show ever greater levels of innovation to succeed in making an impact on the customer. For many businesses this innovation has involved meeting their customers’ needs in alternative and more efficient ways.

Examples might include buy-back schemes, making a product into a service offering, and leasing instead of selling. The REBus project is offering free in-depth support for SMEs that are prepared to think differently and take advantage of big opportunities to increase turnover and resilience; create new commercial opportunities; reduce exposure to resource price increases and fluctuations; and enhance their connection with customers.

REBus is already working with major organisations like Argos, B&Q, Samsung, and Panasonic, and is now looking for a select group of approximately 20 SMEs that have identified an opportunity, but would benefit from assistance to turn it into a commercial reality.

Suitable businesses might include new entrants to the market looking to deliver in a novel way, as well as more established ones looking to change the way they deliver value. The REBus project will focus initially on the textiles and electronics sectors, supported by an online Q&A session on July 23. You can find out more about this programme, complete an expression of interest and register for the online Q&A here.
