UK Manufacturers, what does the future hold?

Britain’s decision to leave the EU has sent shockwaves around the globe and the outlook for the manufacturing and engineering sector is seen by many as key to the UK’s future economic prosperity.

Boost and Co member Moore and Smalley is running its fifth annual Manufacturing & Engineering Survey in conjunction with MHA and Lloyds Commercial Banking. The survey is the largest of its kind and the only one to focus on UK SME manufacturers. With previous surveys having garnered column inches and attracted attention from the Department of Business Innovation and Skills, the survey provides in-depth insight and analysis and an excellent opportunity for people in the sector to make their voices heard.

Anyone that completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a Land Rover Discovery off-road experience for three people. This year commentary comes from two foremost sector leaders; Philippa Oldham from the Insitute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and Professor Rajkumar Roy, Head of Manufacturing at Cranfield University, which partners with the likes of NASA, Rolls Royce, BAE Systems and Formula 1. Ginni Cooper, Head of the Manufacturing Sector for Moore and Smalley said: “It has never been more important for the sector to share their views.

The survey considers the fundamental key issues post-referendum, including business confidence, skills gaps, funding and sustainability. Even though leading economists appear to be at a loss as to what the future your views will help our specialist advisors gauge where the sector is and what can be done to support it through what may be an uncertain period.”

All participants will receive a free copy of the survey report, to take part now go to: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Mha-mooreandsmalley-manufacturingsurvey2016-17
