Skills Bootcamps are designed to give Lancashire businesses the opportunity to recruit new staff or upskill existing staff with the in-demand skills that they need to thrive. Commissioned by the Lancashire Skills Hub, Skills Bootcamps courses and training providers have been specially selected to address the skills gaps faced by Lancashire businesses.
Today’s rapidly changing business environment needs an agile workforce and fresh talent in emerging sectors. Skills Bootcamps will give you skilled staff to help you tackle the cyber threat, attract new business online, make sense of complex data to find new opportunities, and build and enhance business systems to streamline operations. Skills Bootcamps graduates have been recently reskilled in a specific subject area and have demonstrated a level of interest and commitment to building a career in the industry. Our graduates are tomorrow’s experts in a wide range of areas from Cyber Security, Data Analytics and Coding through to HGV driving and construction trade.
Skills Bootcamps are available to residents across the wider Lancashire County, including areas covered by Lancashire County Council, Blackburn with Darwen Council, and Blackpool Council.
Participant Eligibility
You may be eligible to join a Skills Bootcamp in Lancashire if you:
- Are aged 19 or over
- Live in Lancashire, including Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool*
- Have lived in the UK for 3 or more years, or you are a qualifying refugee
- Can commit the time to complete, and have a real desire to increase your earnings
- Can be employed, self-employed, unemployed, not in work and returning to the labour market

Business/Employer Eligibility
Skills Bootcamps will help employers play a leading role in the skills system by enabling them to fill skills gaps at a local level. You can play a key role in designing and developing bespoke training to fit the skills needs of your organisation.
You can encourage your existing staff to take a Skills Bootcamp, helping your business to fill skills gaps whilst also investing in retaining your people. Alternatively, you could look to offer a job interview to an individual who completes a Skills Bootcamp and recruit new talent into your organisation.
