According to the ScaleUp Institute’s ScaleUp Annual Review 2021, scaleups employed 3.2 million people in 2019, generating a total turnover of £1.1 trillion for the UK economy.

Two Zero was founded in 2020 by Lancashire County Council and is designed specifically for scaleup companies.

Through our programmes, one-to-one advice, educational content and focused peer-to-peer learning, scaleup leaders will develop their mindset and grow their people, giving their business a platform for sustainable growth.

Our programmes are delivered by some of the most knowledgeable scaleup advisers in the business support arena, who have experience of working with global brands.

As well as our programmes, we create and share regular helpful insights on scaleup topics, bring scaleup leaders together through events and work with regional and national organisations to help develop the scaleup business support ecosystem.

Since Two Zero was launched in early 2020, we have fully supported 57 scaleup businesses. Over 96% of these businesses have grown 20% in revenue and employment.

Who is it for?

Two Zero is aimed at Lancashire-based scaleup businesses, established companies which are growing staff or turnover by more than 20% per year.

Throughout the year we run a series of funded programmes that help the leaders of these scaleup businesses develop their scaleup mindset and put their business on the path to high growth, playing a part in growing the Lancashire economy.

Many of our programmes are aimed at businesses in specific sectors or for particular demographics. We target areas where we believe there is an immediate support demand within the county.

Since launching, we have delivered programmes aimed at female business leaders, those in the food and drink sector, social enterprise businesses and many more.

How does it work?

Our programmes often support a small number of participants (usually 15-20) so each business can receive quality hands-on support and benefit from engaging group peer sessions with others on the programme.

These programmes, which often take place over the course of 6-12 months, are led by expert business consultants and coaches who know and understand Lancashire’s businesses and economy.

There is often a fixed application window for new programmes and differing selection criteria for each programme. Interested businesses can apply via the Two Zero website and Two Zero will then inform you whether you meet the criteria for the programme.
