Tony Carr

Business Adviser | Flying Start

Tony is the former managing director of a Lancashire-based retail clothing company and has had several chairman and board member roles supporting the retail sector. He was also the co-founder and non-executive director of Blackpool’s first independent radio station.

Tony moved into the third sector as a qualified volunteer adviser for the Citizens Advice Bureau and is also a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy as a qualified counsellor. He is a professionally accredited Chartered Management Institute social enterprise specialist business adviser and mentor.

With expert knowledge in this sector, Tony is an accomplished speaker on the social enterprise economy and is currently the managing director of Social Enterprise Solutions (UK) CIC. He was awarded Social Enterprise Champion of Lancashire 2021.

As a Boost Flying Start business adviser, Tony’s goal is to help create a vibrant social enterprise economy in Lancashire by helping pre-starts and startups grow and develop their businesses working in this sector.

Away from his work Tony's sporting passion is tennis. His favourite place to travel to is Spain, particularly the Andalucia region,thus his favourite music and dance is flamenco ‘for it’s simplicity and passion’.
