Bringing together public and private sector expertise to benefit business

A new private sector-led programme has been announced to support Lancashire-based SMEs to grow their businesses.

The intensive six-month support package Bizsource, from nxo Ltd, is specifically designed to help business owners to overcome their barriers to growth, and give them the best possible opportunity to succeed.

The package has been created thanks to an exclusive arrangement between Lancashire County Council's Rosebud Finance and Preston-based nxo Ltd. It is designed for SMEs in Lancashire, which have the desire and ambition to achieve rapid and sustainable growth. Bizsource is designed for companies seeking advice and guidance.

It includes face-to-face coaching with experienced business consultants, exclusive access to online information and downloadable documents, leadership training and peer-to-peer learning. The partnership between nxo Ltd and Rosebud is the first one of its kind, allowing an initial 10 companies to invest in their growth by accessing this exclusive loan agreement and support.

The programme will be available to qualifying SMEs in Lancashire, who may be new or existing businesses, across a wide range of sectors. It is aimed at companies with the aspiration and capacity for growth, need additional support and would see real benefits from it, but where initial affordability is a barrier to their growth. A loan from Rosebud will be agreed with the companies taking part, to pay for their participation in the programme.

Rosebud is a finance package supporting Lancashire firms to grow and expand their business. County Councillor Niki Penney, chair of Lancashire County Developments Ltd (LCDL) - the county council's economic development company - said: "This collaboration once again highlights Lancashire’s innovative and forward-thinking approach to driving success in the county. "The partnership with nxo Ltd shows how we are always looking at new ways for companies to access our support and we are looking forward to seeing positive and successful results. "By accessing the external support and resources available to them, businesses can ultimately increase their profitability, which brings jobs and growth to the county."

Cheryl Jones, marketing director at nxo Ltd, said: "As a Lancashire-based business, we understand the importance of building relationships locally and providing businesses support based on the specific needs of the organisations in our area. "We work closely with our clients to help them develop and implement effective growth plans, leading to business success. "SME’s are facing fierce challenges to achieve their potential. We want to help them to gain clear goals, build a greater understanding of their customers and their markets, and look at what makes them stand out from their competitors.

"As growth in the Lancashire region continues it is vital that businesses find affordable ways to maximise their presence in the market and we see nxo Bizsource as an excellent route."
