Have your say in UCLan / LEP productivity survey

Productivity

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has teamed up with the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership (LEP) in a bid to boost business productivity across the county. The collaborative project will see senior academics from the University’s Centre for SME Development carrying out research to uncover the factors preventing Lancashire SMEs being more productive and achieving growth.

The findings of the research will be used to identify initiatives, tactics and tools which can be used to support local SMEs, boost the economy and help the region prosper. As part of the project, businesses across Lancashire are being asked to complete a survey, the results of which will enable UCLan and the LEP to shape and implement a strategy to increase productivity in the region.

Dr Sue Smith, director of the centre for SME development at UCLan, said: “Productivity lies at the heart of everything we do. If businesses can work more efficiently then they can produce more and increase profits.

“We’re asking local SMEs to spare a small amount of time to help us gain a better understanding of the barriers stopping them from becoming more productive. As a result, local businesses, and Lancashire as a whole, will be able to benefit from the findings.”
