Free workshops add up to the launch of a new Blackburn accountancy firm

A Blackburn accountant has launched a new business, with support from a free start up programme.

Sue Barker recognised an opportunity to set up an accountancy service designed to help business owners understand their financial position and make informed decisions to help them achieve their business goals.

As a new business owner, Sue attended four free Start Up Bootcamps run by Winning Pitch and Regenerate Pennine Lancashire, as part of Boost Business Lancashire. She received tailored coaching to help develop her business plan, and consider how to make her business different from other accountancy firms in the area.

As a result of the programme, Sue Barker Accountancy has opened for business and is working with its first clients.

Sue Barker said:

“The programme highlighted the need to address the many different aspects of starting a new business as well as providing help and advice on how to do so.”

Boost Business Lancashire is the £7.2m Lancashire Growth Hub, supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
