Free Occupational Health Training for SME Line Managers
Government-funded training to help your managers spot early signs of health issues and support staff effectively.

Small and medium-sized employers across England can now access free, Government-funded occupational health training designed to equip line managers with the practical skills to recognise early warning signs—such as fatigue, behaviour changes, or rising absence - and take supportive, preventative action.

This programme will train up to 5,000 SME line managers up to 31 March, helping businesses reduce costly sickness absence, boost productivity, and retain skilled staff. It’s a time-limited opportunity to build confidence, improve wellbeing, and create healthier, more resilient workplaces.

Who is it for?

  • SMEs based in England
  • Line managers, team leaders, and supervisors responsible for people management
  • HR leads in smaller organisations who want practical, manager-friendly tools

  • How to spot early signs of health-related issues (e.g., fatigue, behaviour or performance changes, increased absence)
