Who is it for?

The Investment Academy, delivered by Boost’s Access to Finance service, is aimed at ambitious Lancashire business leaders who are interested in taking on equity investment and want to understand more about funding pathways, key considerations, what pitfalls to avoid and securing the right investment for them.

How will you benefit?

  • Gain insight into the legal aspects of equity investment such as Intellectual Property and HMRC initiatives
  • Understand the principles of how to value your business 
  • Learn how to pitch for investment, including expert guidance on designing a strong pitch deck

What support will you receive?

  • Nine modules of in-depth workshops and masterclass sessions delivered through four face-to-face sessions
  • Work with public and private sector experts on key aspects of gaining investment
  • Tailored guidance to understand your own finances from Boost Access to Finance team of former bank managers and finance experts

Who delivers the service?

The Investment Academy is delivered by Boost’s Access to Finance team (part of Lancashire County Council) who will work with public and private sector experts from across the Lancashire business community.

Where is it available?

This service is available to businesses within the following partner local authority areas: Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Burnley Council, Chorley Council, Fylde Council, Hyndburn Borough Council, Pendle Borough Council, Preston City Council, South Ribble Borough Council, West Lancashire Borough Council and Wyre Council.

How to access the service

Businesses who are interested in taking part in the Investment Academy are advised to express their interest by completing the form below.

The closing date to make an enquiry is July 31, 2024.  

The Investment Academy programme will commence on September 19, 2024.
