BDODrive is part of BDO, one of the global firms of accounts, designed to make the expertise accessible to everyday businesses seeking to drive change.  We help businesses go global, raise finance, prepare for growth, improve business reporting or simply take away the strain of doing business.  Our local team are always open to a no obligations conversation to bring ideas and help companies think about how they can achieve their goals.

Working with the regional growth hubs we deliver focused workshops designed to really unlock growth potential and help build resilience.  These workshops deliver direct challenge, and also call on our experience, our global network and our digital tools to give meaningful advice.

What one top tip would you give to a business owner embarking on a growth plan?

Be ambitious when setting the dream, but be realistic when setting the plan. Make sure you don’t limit your ambition since all the game changers were based on one person thinking big. However, bring that back to reality and ensure you design the steps you need to take, consider the potential risks and barriers, and recognise that hard work is involved.

Why is Lancashire a great place to grow a business?

Having lived here for 24 years, I have seen that Lancashire has a real commitment to making things happen from the smallest artisan businesses through to the major technological giants. It was the original incubator which spun out Manchester and Liverpool, and even the Queen is proud to call herself the Duke of Lancaster!

Why are you backing Boost Business Lancashire?

Boost is a great initiative to bring together the businesses and advisers who can really enable business growth in the region. We want to see businesses reach their potential and so we are happy to support Boost and really drive ambition in our region.
