Lancashire’s high growth companies were recognised at the Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs) on Friday September 16 as Preston-based heat pump distributor Freedom Heat Pumps UK won the Scaleup Award, sponsored by Two Zero.

The award was presented to Freedom Heat Pumps by Amin Vepari, business finance and scaleup lead at Lancashire County Council and programme manager for Two Zero.

The Wellbeing Farm, a corporate events and wedding venue based near Edgworth, won the Green Business of The Year. The company took part in Two Zero’s Scaleup Resurgence, a tailored programme designed to help participating businesses return to high growth following Covid-19.

Wellbeing Farm is now taking part in the Scaleup Leaders Network, a targeted scaleup programme managed by Two Zero Council helping owners and managers of fast-growing businesses accelerate expansion through sustained growth coaching and learning from other scaleup leaders.

Speaking about the awards, County Councillor Aidy Riggott, cabinet member for economic development and growth, Lancashire County Council said: “Scaleup businesses are an important contributor to economic growth in Lancashire and it’s great to see so many high growth businesses receiving the recognition they deserve through the BIBAs awards.

“In all the categories, there are so many brilliant, innovative companies right across our county.

“Many of these have received help through Lancashire County Council’s business support services. We’re proud to provide funding so that Lancashire County Council can contribute to that success.”

The BIBAs is one of Lancashire’s longest running business awards programmes and is run by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.

It celebrates some of the most exciting companies and entrepreneurs based in Lancashire, showcasing their success stories and highlighting Lancashire’s position as a world-class business community.

Two Zero is a business support service for scaleup business leaders in Lancashire. Led by Lancashire County Council, its mission is to help Lancashire’s scaleup leaders learn, grow their business 20% and create jobs.
