Lancashire firms urged to apply for funded skills support

Skills Support for the Workforce

Lancashire businesses are being encouraged to take advantage of a £4.5m programme of funded skills support - which has already helped more than 7,500 learners from 2,100 businesses.

The European Social Fund backed Skills Support for the Workforce programme is available to provide skills support across all sectors with accredited qualifications and bespoke training courses to businesses in Lancashire.  The training is offered in partnership with a number of specialist training providers and includes technical qualifications and units, higher level skills such as leadership and management and responsive, short, bespoke training and workshops on skills such as social media and digital marketing.

The programme is delivered by Dimensions Training Solutions (DTS) who recently acquired learndirect Ltd - who themselves had run the programme in Lancashire since December 2016. Skills Support for the Workforce in Lancashire has already helped more than 7,500 learners to develop their skills and more than 2,100 Lancashire businesses to benefit from increased staff motivation, productivity and retention.

Commenting on the support, Janette Healey from Dimensions Training Solutions said: "The programme has already proved very popular and we're keen for as many Lancashire businesses as possible to take advantage of funded training ahead of the deadline of 31st March 2019." "Our approach is tailored to meet the unique needs of businesses and their people – one of our local experts will visit you to carry out a free consultation, after which they will develop a bespoke training plan designed to tackle skills gaps in your workforce." "Our training is flexible – it can be delivered direct to staff on your premises, at a local venue or wherever there’s access to the internet."
