What you’ll learn

  • Understand the online resources available to support SMEs in the security and cyber security sectors.
  • Learn where to identify tenders and open international opportunities.
  • Gain an understanding of the domestic support landscape and international events that can help SMEs expand globally.

Description

UK companies in the security and cyber security sectors are internationally recognised for their innovation and expertise, with exports in security and resilience alone exceeding £11 billion in 2024. For SMEs, however, taking the first steps into international markets can be challenging without clear guidance and support.

This webinar is designed to help SMEs in these sectors explore exporting opportunities, access the right advice, and connect with resources that can support their journey. Participants will gain an understanding of where to find online resources, open tenders, and live opportunities, as well as insights into the domestic support landscape, including International Trade Advisers and Sector Specialists. The session will also highlight relevant international events and examples of how UK businesses have successfully engaged with overseas governments to secure contracts.

By attending, you will be better equipped with the practical knowledge and connections needed to build your export capability and compete effectively in global markets.

Speakers:

Simon Goatcher is the Deputy Head of Security & Cyber Security Exports in DBT and leads our activities in this area.

Mike Dayson is the Principal Fire & Security Exports Advisor and supports UK companies in the fire and resilience sector to export.

Kevan Reade is the Principal Cyber Security Exports Advisor and works with cyber security SMEs to ready them for exporting.
