Cyber Essentials: A Simple Introduction for SMEs @ Blackburn

March 12, 2026

14:00 - 16:00

Blackburn with Darwen

Lancashire Digital Hub

As part of the Lancashire Digital Hub, we're running a free, beginner-friendly introduction to Cyber Essentials - the UK's baseline cyber security standard. This practical 2-hour workshop is designed for small businesses, charities and organisations with little or no cyber security experience.

We'll explain what Cyber Essentials is, why it matters, and what it actually means for your day-to-day operations - all in plain English, with no jargon. You'll be guided through the five core areas of Cyber Essentials, understand common risks facing SMEs, and leave with a clear idea of what "good enough" cyber security looks like for your organisation.

We'll also introduce you to trusted local Managed Service Providers (MSPs) who can offer tailored, practical advice if you want help preparing for certification. No technical background required - just bring your questions.
