The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) has important implications for businesses placing consumer products on the EU market. Designed to strengthen product safety rules, the regulation applies to goods not already covered by specific EU standards and CE marking, while also extending to some products when sold online or through distance sales. Its scope is broad, covering not only new products but also second-hand, repaired, reconditioned and recycled goods.
