Join us as Alice and Josh talk about how they decided to start JobFair. We'll learn about the research it's built on, how they collaborated as a team with other Fraser House members, their successful applications of grant funding, and future plans.

Alice Ashcroft is a researcher and consultant who analyses the impact of identity and gendered language in software design and team meetings. Alice has been published in peer-reviewed journals and her PhD, “Design, Innovation and Software: The Impact of Gender and Language”, focused on how gender affects communication and teamwork in software design and innovation workshops. Their work highlights the need for more inclusive practices that give everyone a voice, helping to improve creativity and collaboration in the design process.

Josh Bailey is the founder of Sqwosh, an AI engineering and product studio based at Fraser House in Lancaster. Sqwosh helps organisations turn AI ideas and early prototypes into dependable products that work in the real world, not just impressive demos. His work spans AI strategy, system healthchecks, product design and engineering, and ongoing support after launch, with a particular focus on quality, safety, cost and continuous improvement.
