Innovate UK

Innovate UK is supporting `BAE Systems to hold this briefing session to raise awareness of two important defence and security market opportunity challenges.

Who should attend?

These Innovation Exchange challenge opportunities are open to both academic and industrial practitioners. Industrial participants can be established businesses, start-ups or SMEs of any size. Research Technology Organisations (RTOs) such as Catapults are eligible to apply. Collaborative solutions (B2B and B2R&D) are welcome.

Please be aware that applications to attend must be submitted using an academic or business email address. Applications using other email domains will not be accepted.

What are the challenges?

Challenge One:

BAE Systems is inviting innovators and fresh thinkers to demonstrate solutions to provide capability that will ensure the timely and successful conduct of Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) in response to increasingly complex and diverse threats.

Key areas of interest include automating the process of identifying and classifying potential threats, accurately predicting the trajectory of incoming threats to maximise effective interception, fusing multi-domain data into a coherent picture and aiding the operator in making rapid decisions about resource allocation and engagement planning.

Challenge Two:

BAE Systems is inviting innovators and fresh thinkers to demonstrate solutions to provide capability that will ensure the timely and successful conduct of Counter Multi-Domain Unmanned Vehicles (UxV) operations in response to increasingly complex and diverse threats.

Key areas of interest include AI-powered early warning systems, Electronic warfare (EW) systems that can dynamically adapt and respond to the tactics of unmanned assets, and AI-powered decision support systems that can analyse multiple data sources to recommend optimal counter UxV responses to the operator.
