Jump into the drama of an employment tribunal and see how it all works – no stress, just real insights and fun! Join AfterAthena for a live mock employment tribunal, where we bring a realistic workplace dispute to life and walk you through the full process – from investigation and evidence gathering, through to cross-examination and judgment.

Led by real-life Barrister and fee paid Judge of the Employment Tribunals, Amy Smith – and designed for HR professionals, managers and business owners – this interactive online session gives you a front-row seat to how workplace decisions are tested under scrutiny.

The case you’ll follow At the centre of this mock tribunal is the dismissal of a long-standing Managing Director with 20 years’ service, accused of misconduct relating to expenses. The case raises a number of familiar, and often complex, questions, including:
When does a simple decision become something more serious?
How quickly can trust unravel at senior level and what does that mean in practice?
What happens when “the way things have always been done” is put under the spotlight?
How robust is your process when every step is challenged and scrutinised?
Are there wider factors at play and should they influence the outcome at all?

As the case unfolds, you’ll see how these factors are challenged, tested and interpreted through witness evidence and cross-examination, and how small decisions can carry significant weight in the final outcome. Plus, we’ll explore if the case would differ if judged under the upcoming Employment Rights Act 2025 reforms.
