September Freelancer Meet-Up

December 09, 2026

10:00 - 12:00

Preston

Society1

An informal meet-up for local freelancers with a coffee hour and coworking day at Society1. Preston Freelancer MeetUp and Coworking Day This is a regular meet up for freelancers, home workers, solopreneurs and alike. It is a really friendly and welcoming group aimed to provide the opportunity to meet and connect with other likeminded people working in a similar way.

Do you feel like you want to meet some other freelancers?
Do you find working from home can feel make you feel isolated?
Are you new to freelancing and would like to talk to others with experience?
Are you looking to work with other freelancers and would like to connect with the local community?

These are all good reasons to come and join us. Our meet-up starts at 10am with informal conversations over a drink and pastries. It will provide an opportunity to meet other people with similar experiences. We have a guest speaker who will share about their journey in the freelance world.

This months speaker is: Gavin Birchall, founder of Dose Group ’There is a guy called Gavin Birchall who is Head of Tax and Trusts at a solicitors firm in Ipswich. I reckon he is about 49 years old. I am not that guy. There is another guy called Gavin Birchall from Ashton-Under-Lyne. He says he is an investor and I’m not sure how old he is. I am not that guy either. The algorithms say I am 'a writer, artist, designer, coach and former pharmacist exploring how we might live with more attention, creativity and connection’. Which is nice. Also that 'I’m interested in thresholds: the places where identities loosen, old ways stop working and something less certain begins’. But what do algorithms know about human experience? I can talk about being a freelancer for ten years, alone, heading a small team, then alone again. All while constantly evolving what I sell to fit with whatever I’m fascinated by. I can also talk about what is next.'
