Up to £5,000 funding to help Wyre businesses invest, grow and improve productivity.

The Wyre Council-funded Small Business Growth Grant is designed to help existing Wyre businesses invest in activities that support growth, productivity and long-term sustainability.

The grant can contribute towards a range of business improvement projects, including:

  • Purchase of plant, equipment or machinery.
  • Improvements or adaptations to business premises, including energy efficiency and carbon reduction measures.
  • Training, accreditation and potential membership of recognised professional bodies.
  • Installation or upgrading of high-speed broadband.
  • Marketing activities, including website development and language translation work for entering international markets.

Applicants must demonstrate how the investment will support business growth through the submission of a business plan, marketing plan and cashflow forecast. Free business support is available to help successful applicants maximise the impact of their grant-funded project.

To help businesses understand how the funding works, the guidance includes a step-by-step example showing how the grant contribution is calculated against eligible project costs and the level of match funding required from the business. Grants are available up to a maximum of £5,000, subject to the outcomes and benefits that will be delivered. Businesses must be able to fund the full project cost upfront, with grant payments later claimed in two stages subject to evidence of expenditure, project progress and achievement of agreed outcomes.

Businesses are encouraged to review the example carefully when developing their project and budget.
