The Lancashire Business Growth Hub, Boost Business Lancashire was presented with the ‘Contribution to Lancashire’ award at last week’s Downtown Lancashire Business Awards at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh hotel.

The award followed news that Boost has helped more than 2,000 businesses in the county to start up, access mentoring and coaching support as well as funding and expertise around topics like innovation and developing leadership teams.

Commenting on the award, Andrew Leeming, senior projects officer at Lancashire County Council said: “The award came as a total surprise – albeit a very welcome one.

There is a large team of people across a range of public and private sector organisations working together to deliver business support under the Boost umbrella.

It’s great to hear from the Lancashire business community that they like Boost and what we have to offer."

Frank McKenna, Chief Executive of Downtown in Business, added: “Boost is one of the most comprehensive business support packages I’ve ever seen, and it is no surprise to me that it’s been embraced by the region’s businesses and professional community.

A number of our Downtown Lancashire members have benefited from the support available and their feedback has been glowing."
