Lancashire businesses urged not to miss out on chance for part-funded sales director service

There are just three places remaining for a unique partnership between Lancashire County Council’s scaleup support service Two Zero and Blackburn-based sales training and consultancy firm Sales Geek, which gives Lancashire businesses access to an external expert sales director.

Your Sales Director gives scaleups and aspiring scaleups in Lancashire access to one of Sales Geek’s expert sales directors, who will work within their business to support their sales and growth strategy over a period of either two or four days.

The programme is 50 per cent funded by Lancashire County Council and will close for applications on March 1.

It gives businesses access to one of three of Sales Geek’s sales directors: Darren Neil, who has over 30 years’ sales experience in addition to being managing director at two startups; Graeme Murray who has led sales teams at national and international level and James Podevyn who rose from sales manager to managing director of a Lancashire engineering business experiencing global growth.

A range of fast-growing businesses from the county are already benefitting from the partnership, including Burnley-based security installation and maintenance firm Scope Fire and Security.

Managing director Scott Chapman said: “Having such easy and cost-effective access to the Your Sales Director service, thanks to Two Zero, and having someone as experienced and knowledgeable as Darren, is incredible for a relatively new business such as ours.

“We are really enjoying implementing his ideas and suggestions and we’re already benefiting from the know-how and insight he provides.”

The support partnership is aimed at companies looking to grow revenue by scaling their sales operations. It includes Sales Geek’s sales directors working directly with their sales teams as well as tools to define their sales approach and insight to help them develop a 3-5 year sales strategy.

Amin Vepari, programme manager, Two Zero said: “Hiring a sales director is a great way to scale up your revenue but is a big step for many organisations, which is why we launched this unique part-funded service, giving Lancashire businesses access to an expert to work within their business on a short-term basis and supercharge their sales operation.

“Sales Geek is itself a scaleup business and has previously received support from Two Zero. The company’s expertise in this area combined with the team’s knowledge of the challenges and opportunities that high growth brings make it an ideal partner for this programme.”
