The number of entries and quality of the finalists for the Scaleup category at this year’s BIBAs Awards is a sign of the strength of the county’s high growth business community, business leaders have said.

The Scaleup Business of the Year award, which is sponsored by Two Zero, saw entries from 63 Lancashire scaleup businesses this year.

Judges have chosen eight finalists, which were announced this week, with the winner set to be revealed at the BIBAs Awards ceremony in Blackpool on September 16.

Amin Vepari, business finance and scaleup lead, Lancashire County Council, said: “Nationally, scaleups generate more than £1 trillion in turnover for the UK economy and are a huge contributor to economic growth and prosperity.

“This is echoed in Lancashire and we have a brilliant range of scaleup businesses from across the county. The number of entries into this year’s award is testament to that, as is the list of finalists who are all strong, high-performing businesses.

“Last year’s winner, Sales Geek, is a recipient of Two Zero support and is now working with us on our Scale to Sale programme. I’m looking forward to meeting with this year’s finalists and understanding how Two Zero can support and work with them.”

  • Evolution Solutions (NW) Limited
